Yuh Huey focuses on Financial Services Regulatory and Private Clients work. She has a multi-disciplinary background, with more than 15 years of experience in various areas of practice, including financial services regulatory, insurance, private client, corporate trusts and debt capital markets. Her multi-disciplinary background allows her to provide balanced and workable advice taking into consideration both regulatory and commercial considerations.

On the Financial Services Regulatory front, Yuh Huey advises banks, insurance companies, credit rating agencies, financial advisers, trust companies and other financial institutions and corporates on their licensing, regulatory and compliance obligations, licence applications, regulatory audits, regulatory investigations, statutory transfers in connection with the sale and transfer of their regulated business and the drafting of legal documentation required by financial institutions for their operations and businesses. Apart from regulatory related advice, she also provides specialist advice on insurance related matters.

In her Private Clients practice, Yuh Huey advises ultra high-net-worth individuals and families, trust companies and private banks on the establishment of trusts, succession and estate planning – including setting up of private trust companies (PTCs), complex structures, corporate structuring, family governance, setting up of family offices (including licensing issues), the drafting of trust and other legal documentation required by trust companies for their operations and businesses and and other private client issues. She also advises private banks on private wealth products such as insurance premium financing.

Outside of Financial Services Regulatory and Private Clients work, Yuh Huey also has significant Capital Markets experience advising banks, government bodies and corporates, including CapitaLand Limited, Changi Airport Group (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., City Development Limited, Keppel Corporation Limited, Olam International Limited, SATS Ltd., and StarHub Ltd on their securities offerings and restructuring transactions.

Clients she has advised include local and international banks, leading global insurance companies, credit rating agency, major trust companies, local and international billionaires, owners of listed companies, government agencies and major SGX-listed corporates and REITs.

Yuh Huey is named as a 5-star Insurance Lawyer by Insurance Business Asia, and contributed to various publications including the Singapore chapter of The Legal 500’s 2021 Insurance & Reinsurance Country Comparative Guide and Chamber’s Global Practice Guide on Insurance and Reinsurance 2020.
